Does Keeping a Battery Monitor Constantly Charged Affect Battery Life?Updated 20 days ago

Does Keeping a Battery Monitor Always Charged Shorten Its Battery Life?

It doesn't. When you are working, keeping a monitor always charged, is better for extending the battery's lifespan. This is because its lifespan depends on how many times of charge cycles. You should know that the more charge and discharge cycles there are, the shorter the life. Additionally, when the battery is fully charged, the monitor switches to using power directly from the charger, helping to protect the battery and extend its lifespan.

What Are the Other Factors That Affect the Monitor's Battery Life?

A monitor's lithium battery lifespan may be affected by many factors, like screen brightness, usage patterns, temperature, charging habits, natural aging, and so on. Features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and power-intensive settings such as HDR can also accelerate battery drain.

However, the main factors that affect battery life are the following:

  •  Not turning off the device when it's not in use
  •  Overheating during use or while charging
  •  Frequently draining the battery to 0%

How to Enhance the Monitor's Battery Longevity?

Turn It Off When Not in Use

We recommend turning off the monitor and unplugging it when you're not using it. This helps reduce screen wear and slows down aging. Only turn it on when needed, or use it while charging during work. Proper battery use can go a long way in keeping it healthy.

Keep It Cool

A key factor affecting battery life is heat. Avoid using or charging the monitor on insulating surfaces like carpets, blankets, or similar fabrics. Poor heat dissipation can cause the battery to age faster.

Don't Wait for the Battery to Drain Fully

Letting the battery drain to about 20%-30% before recharging helps keep it healthy. This simple habit can help extend its lifespan.
